- START : 7:41pm
- PEAK: 9:44pm
- END: 11:47pm
What to do per our scriptures:
- Fast 6-8 hours prior start, till the end of eclipse is insisted as per our scriptures
- Take bath (punya snana) at the beginning of the eclipse
- During the punya kala perform nirmalya and devara puja
- Take bath at the end of the eclipse followed by pooja, naivedya and Parane
- Any daana sankalpa or punya karma done this period yields immense phala
- Eclipse time is considered most fruitful time for Japa, Parayana and Tarpana
- Wash clothes used/touched during eclipse before final bath or snaana
- Keep tulasi/dharbhe on pickles, condiments and dry food for purity
What not to do per our scriptures:
- Keep any food ( except milk/yogurt) through the eclipse
- Eat,sleep, drink or use restrooms (except babies and sick)
Impact of the Eclipse on Rashis
- This Eclipse will take place in ‘Poorva Bhadra Nakshatra’ – ‘Meena Rashi’.
- It will also effect the following Rashis : Kumbha, Mesha, Simha and Tula
- People who are born in the above Rashis and live in visible area (Austin is visible) are suggested to do remedies or Parihara.
- Grahana Dosha is just indicating of our karma of previous lives and guiding us to do Punya Karya to avoid Negative effects. No need to fear
- Let us take this opportunity to do Sat-karma, dana and please the Almighty and be happy!

- Chant VSN, Rudra and VayuStuthi,
- Rudraabhisheka, Navagraha/Mrutyunjaya Homa
- Chanting prayers to Narasimha, Shiva, Ganesha and Navagraha
